NEW! Project Creation Course – £55 per week

On this course children will use Microsoft Word to create an informative and well presented project on a topic of their choice. They will learn how to create a table of contents, insert and edit text, images and graphs and learn effective methods of researching their topic. The project will be bound at the end of the week for an extra professional look! Recommended for ages 9 and up.

Desktop Publishing Course – £55 per week

On this course children will learn and develop desktop publishing skills.  Using Microsoft Publisher children will create a variety of publications such as leaflets, gift boxes and tags, calendars and cards. Recommended for ages 7 and up.

Superclubs Plus Course – £55

Superclubs Plus is a safe online community especially for children.  Children can create their own mini website, email friends and join in discussion forums all under the supervision of highly trained professional mediators. Superclubs Plus is a great way to introduce children to the Internet and the importance of online safety.  The cost of the course includes an annual subscription with Superclubs so children can continue to work on their site at home for one year and as a ‘lite user’ with a few restrictions after that. Touch-Typing Course – £50 per week

Learn to touch-type using a variety of fun games aimed at introducing correct posture, hand and finger placement.  Due to the variety of programs available the course is suitable for complete beginners or those who would like to improve their typing skills. This course is recommended for ages 7 and up.

Educational Games – £55 per week

Fun educational games to help brush up on maths and literacy skills during the holidays. Many of the programs used can be customised to suit individual needs and are presented in a way which makes learning fun. This course is recommended for ages 5 to 7.

PowerPoint Presentation Course – £55 per week

Create a multimedia presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint.  Children will create a slide show on a topic of their choice and use the Internet and Encyclopaedia software to source information and pictures.  Children will input text, pictures and  sound effects and learn how to animate their slide show.  At the end of the course children will be given a copy of their presentation on disc to take home. Recommended for ages 7 and up.

Computer Art Course – £55 per week

Children will use Microsoft Word and other art programs to create stickers, pictures, t-shirt transfers, key rings, magnets and cards.  It’s great fun and there’s lots to take away at the end of the week! Recommended for ages 7 and up.

General Computer Course – £55 per week

On this course children will learn and develop general computer skills.  Using Microsoft Word children will create posters, labels and puzzles.  Children will also learn to create basic spreadsheets and graphs using Microsoft Excel.  This course is ideal for gaining useful day-to-day word processing skills. Recommended for ages 7 and up.

CLAIT Course – £60 per week

CLAIT (Computer Literacy and Information Technology) is a series of qualifications offered by OCR.  There are many units available in the CLAIT qualification but each week-long course will focus on just one area of your choice, providing each child with instruction and build-up exercises followed by an exam at the end of the week.  After external moderation of the work a certificate will be awarded by OCR for successful entries. Units include File Management and e-Document Production, Creating Spreadsheets & Graphs, Database Manipulation, Producing an e-Publication, Creating an e-Presentation, e-Image Creation and Web Page Creation.
